The Board

The responsibility for The Maroondah Foundation rests with its Board of Directors.

The Board:

  • determines strategic direction and policy
  • approves financial objectives, performance and plans
  • ensures compliance with legal requirements and standards of performance.

Members of the Board

Board membership is an honorary position with no fees or salaries paid to members. All Board Members perform their duties in a voluntary capacity.

Linda Hancock

Linda has lived in Maroondah for more than 30 years, raising two children and playing an active role in local school and sporting communities. Linda has been a member of Victoria Police for nearly 40 years and is currently based in the Lilydale Proactive Policing Unit.

Paul Macdonald

Paul has lived in Maroondah for many years with his wife and two adult sons. He is a licenced plumber and gasfitter and has worked in the government and private sectors of the industry. Paul has had an active involvement with local community groups, including a number of volunteer roles.

Spears-Cr-Kylie
Kylie Spears

Kylie has successfully run her own local business for the last 10 years and is President of the Melbourne East Netball Association. Kylie is a workplace trainer and assessor and has over fifteen years of organisational and event management experience.

Steane-Cr-Rob
Rob Steane

Rob has lived in Maroondah for more than 20 years, where he and his wife have two adult children. Rob runs his own local business and is active in the community. Rob is interested in public safety, community engagement and supporting the work of a range of community organisations.

Chris Jones

Chris has lived in Maroondah his entire adult life, raising two children, and playing an active role in a number of community groups and volunteer organisations. Chris holds a senior leadership role with a global software company and has spent his entire working career in technology. Chris is passionate about empowering community groups to deliver wellbeing for all residents and has previously served on the Yarrunga Community Centre Board.

Catherine Gordon, Chair

Catherine and her husband Chris have lived with their family in Maroondah for over 20 years, and have a strong connection to the community. Catherine has worked as a healthcare professional and volunteered within school and sporting groups. She is passionate about local sports, and is Secretary of Maroondah Volleyball and sits on the Board of Volleyball Victoria.

Linda Hancock

Linda has lived in Maroondah for more than 30 years, raising two children and playing an active role in local school and sporting communities. Linda has an active interest in community safety, and has established strong connections with community groups and organisations, assisting them to work together to achieve greater outcomes.

Nathaniel Henderson

Nate lives in Maroondah with with his wife, Keely, and their dog Bronson. As the owner of a family business, he has a keen interest in supporting other local businesses to thrive and encouraging our community to shop and source services and trades locally.

Danielle Heatherich

Daniella has called Maroondah home for over 20 years, raising her two children, who attended local schools. Daniella has spent her working career in health and helping others, as a nurse, fitness instructor and qualified naturopath. She is currently working in disability and mental health support. She is focused on fostering a connected, compassionate community and bringing people together.

Paul Macdonald

Paul has lived in Maroondah for many years with his wife and raising two adult sons. He is a licenced plumber and gasfitter and has worked in the government and private sectors of the industry. Kylie Spears

Kylie has lived in Maroondah for over 35 years and has successfully run her own local business for the last 17 years. She is passionate about enhancing community connectedness and the liveability of Maroondah. Kylie is a workplace trainer and assessor and has over fifteen years of organisational and event management experience.

Rob Steane OAM

Rob has lived in Maroondah for more than 20 years, where he and his wife Linda have raised two adult children. Rob runs his own local business and is active in the community. Rob is interested in public safety, community engagement and supporting the work of a range of community organisations.
